When you think of Instagram, you immediately associate it with images and video. Ever seen a pixelated image on Instagram? That is due to image size and proportions not being correct. This post and our others will stop you from doing the same.
Profile picture – This image is the first other users see when looking at your profile so it’s important to make sure its not blurred or cut off in some way.
- recommended 320 x 320. A square picture to then be cropped into a round frame. An easy task with the slider tool.
Feed photos that are the general photos uploaded daily come in 3 ways.
- Portrait – 1080 x 1350
- Landscape – 1080 x 566
- Square – 1080 x 1080
The Image sizes of Instagram are quite easy to follow compared to the ones of Facebook* and Twitter*
For video, its still as simple for the likes of stories, reels and IGTV.
- Stories – 1080 x 1920 is best here as the only come is portrait
- IGTV – 1080 x 1920
- Reels – 1080 x 1920
IGTV can have covers, the best practice for these is 420 x 654. Make sure to place them in a title safe area as to be safe from disrupting the video itself. These should be less than 2MB
